Trish & I enjoyed a good break in the UK & Ireland. I travelled though 4 different airports and found that the security can vary, basically Stansted was the tightest. So if any one is using this route over the Xmas period, make sure you allow as much time as possible. Also they are strict on the one bag rule, a ladies handbag (or man bag for that matter) counts as one bag. I was asked to pass this on by one of our customers who was refused entry to go "air side", because she had handbag & her hand luggage, resulting in her having to return to Ryanair and book in another bag (cost £7). When I travelled through Hearthrow, it appeared that it was ok for ladies to carry a handbag as well as their hand luggage.

Bike rides

We will be having 2 bike rides this month. The first will be on the 19th December, leaving the car park at 13.00hrs, followed by the usual. (bring your own) Bar b q at the cafe.

The second bike ride will be on the 27th December, leaving again at 13.00hrs. It is planned to have a route that will be suitable for families. Once again it will be followed by a Barbie at the cafe. We are trying to keep the bike rides as informal as possible, it would be advisable to:

• check your bike over before the ride,
• carry a small toolkit
• make sure you have some water and snack type food
• bring your mobile
• wear clothing suitable for the weather and conditions

If anyone has any other advise, please pass it on, the main objective of the ride is to explore the forest in the company of friends and enjoy the ride.

Golf day

The December Golf day will take place at the Petit Chene golf club, on the 12th December. Tee off times have been booked for 09.00hrs. Meet as usual in the car park to leave at 07.30hrs. If anyone would like to join us for lunch (drop me a mail or call in to the cafe) meet us at the golf club at 13.00hrs. If we are not in the bar, you can walk towards the pro shop and watch us finish on the 18 green. This month we have invited 2 widowed pensioners (Roger & David), to join us for lunch. Cost for Golfers 50€, for non-golfers the cost for Lunch is around 15€.

Carol service

We will be having a Carol Service in the court behind the café at 16.00hr Xmas eve. Come along and join in. Trish & some of the ladies will be cooking mince pies, but if you have some time to help out by cooking some , they will be greatly appreciated. From the interest we have had, it should be a very good evening.

Computer Clinic

The next computer clinic will be held at 14.00hrs on the 11th December in the café; come along and discuss with Barry your latest PC problem, or share with us what web sites you have found,etc. If you have a problem or want to ask about something, send an email to help@inthevendee.com

I' d like to share something passed on to me by son, type "failure" in to your search engine & see what web site come up first( I use google).

Christmamas Day	10.00hrs - 14.00hrs
Boxing day	Closed
New Years Eve	11.00hrs - 16.00hrs
New years Day	as normal
