Palet May 17th, not all British teams lost in France that evening. Although Arsenal may have been defected in Paris, at the Cour du Miracle, the café palet team fought back from 2 games down to snatch victory from the Pic Vert team.(For once) the sun shone, and the Patrice team (Andre & Seb) gained an early 2 game lead. Things looked bad, so Alan (captain) made some hard decisions, substitutions were made, more beer, and a team talk in Welsh. The 3rd game was 8 all, when Patrice (captain Pic Vert) called for more beer, this seemed to have the desired effect on our team as we went on to win the 3rd game. On a roll, our team then went on to win the next 2 games, giving us a 3-2 victory. Many thanks to all that took part and those who came and supported the players. A return match has been set for the 21st June at the Pic Vert, so once again please come and support us. The palet players, back L-R, Ewan, Barry, Alan,Patrice, Trish, George & Andre Front- Graham, Seb & mascots Pallet 2 Saturday 13th May, Alan, Graham, Barry & I ( with supporters ie partners) took part in a palet tournament. The welcome we got was superb, and we had a very enjoyable (albeit very late) evening. At the end, we came 8th out of 12 teams, which for a first tournament we where very happy with. So if you see or hear of a “Concours du palet” let us know, “have team, will travel”. Bike ride Frank has sorted out the route(20kms) for the bike ride. We leave from the place du basil, 18H00 on the 12th June. All Welcome( if anyone would like to take part but they haven't a bike I don't mind letting them use my bike and I stay in the café) Computer Clinic Barry will be holding his monthly computer on 19th of June 14.00hrs – 17.00hrs. Last month he explained how to program your computer make low cost or free phone calls. We have signed up and it does save you money. Wine After our visit to the accountant, we have had to make some changes to the price of our house wines. With effect from Monday 5th June, we will be selling our wine in 10cl glasses costing 2€, the smaller 5cl glass will cost 1.20€. A liter carafe of house wine will cost 9€ and & ½ liter 4.50€. We also have a small selection of wine for sale by the bottle. Fish &chips Derek and Christine have changed some of the locations that they visit with the Fish & Chip van.
