New opening Hours

With effect from the 1^st May, the café will be open on Mondays, but closed all day Tuesday

Pallet

We have been challenged to a match by the Pic Vert. This will take place on the 17^th May at the café. Anyone interested in taking part can turn up for practice on Wednesday or Sunday afternoons. Even if you don’t want to play, please turn up and support us as we battle for “the Chairman Mao incense burner”(currently on display in the bar)

Music nights

As the weather in improving, we have nothing booked at the moment. However Eileanora who played in the café on the 21^st April, is hoping to come back over at the end of May with Tap, (played guitar in December in the café). As soon as it is confirmed, I will let you know.

Rugby World Cup 2007

France is the host for the 2007 world Cup. Hopefully Voyages Soulard will be arranging coach trips to some of the matches. If anyone is interested, can they please forward their details to me, so I can give Voyages Soulard an idea of the numbers.

Mountain Biking

Anyone interested in a bike ride from the café to the forest and back? Frank (one of our French regulars) has offered to plan a gentle route for us. If this appeals to you let me know. We plan to do it sometime in June.

Irish Best practice visit

This visit was a great success. The members of Newry collage were very impressed with all the visits arranged for them, the standard of the food they tried in various restaurants, and the friendly welcome they received. Many thanks to all whom helped with the visit.

Planning a party?

For one of the evening meal during the Irish visit, Greg (from the Auberge) supplied the food to be eaten in the café. This was a great success, so we decided that we would do it again if anyone requests it. So if you are planning a party or a get together, and you don’t want the hassle of cooking etc, pop in and see us.

Vouvant Vide-Grenier 9^th July 2006

The Vouvant Vide-Grenier will be held on the 9^th July. If you would like to book a pitch (cost 3€ per metre) we have some application forms in the café. Trish has booked a pitch outside the café. The proceeds of the stall will be going to the French charity, “Expression Partage”. This charity pays for children from the 3^rd world to come over to France for medical treatment. If anyone would like to help Trish and/or donate anything for the stall, can they please get in touch with Trish.

La Poste

You may know that La Poste is now also a bank. To publicise this, they are hoping to have an information evening in the café. Subjects that will be covered include inheritance laws, banking etc. They will also be providing some refreshments. If anyone is interested in this event, can you please contact me ASAP?

Parlant Francais Group

Due to the good weather and longer evenings, we decided to postpone any further Parlant Francais evenings until the winter.
